Services
Dr. Gary Williams and Dr. Elizabeth Torres are dedicated to providing comprehensive eye care service to meet all of your ocular health and visual needs.
•\tComprehensive Eye Exam- We encourage all of our patients to have a routine eye exam once a year-even if you have no vision complaints. During the exam, the doctor will not only check your vision but also perform a dilated eye exam to look for such diseases as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, which can lead to blindness if undetected. The exam
can also detect non-vision-related health issues and systemic diseases, including high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, and hyperthyroidism. Retinal evaluation for tears, degenerations and detachments will also be performed. Routine exams are particularly important for those at higher risk for glaucoma, including anyone over age 60, Hispanics and African Americans over age 40, and those with a family history of glaucoma. Exams are vital for toddlers and preschool children, who may have vision problems without showing symptoms at all.
•\tChildren’s Eye Exams-Since it’s possible for your child to have a vision problem without being aware of it; we encourage parents to bring children in for at least one eye exam before they start kindergarten. This is particularly important if there is family history of vision problems or if your child displays any of the following symptoms: occasional crossing of the eyes, a slight asymmetry in eyelid posture, avoidance, fatigue or inattention with reading or school activities, mild headaches, rubbing of the eye, occasional squinting or a slight head turn.
•\tPrimary Eye Care- Our practice is dedicated to overall ocular health, if you notice anything unusual with your eyes or eyesight, including redness, pink eye, styes or general irritation; we encourage you to visit our office for consultation. We are TPA certified (Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent), which means we can prescribe medications for your condition when necessary. For more urgent matters, such as flashes of light, loss of vision, a sudden change in vision" floaters,” or extreme pain, call our office immediately.
•\tLASIK Co-Management- LASIK is a state-of-the-art surgical procedure that corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Dr. Williams co-manages LASIK patients with the best surgeons in the area, providing you with guidance as your primary care optometrist and the expertise of a surgeon.
•\tLenses & Eyewear- Whether strictly utilitarian or all-out fashion statement, your comfort and vision while wearing corrective lenses or eyewear is our primary concern. Drs. Williams and Torres will work closely with you to determine the best solution for your eyes, prescription and lifestyle.
